Smile, is my greatest asset
It's has been 4 years since last blog entry...Time really flies...From the 1st blog entry talking about my job interview, i have been working in a same company for 4 years and 5 months.
For the past four years of working life, there are many ups and downs, but it is just part of the life, that make life so unique and special.
Share some quotes i have learned from the TV program i have watched during my 3 week stay at Japan (12~30 Oct 2010)
1. "Tomorrow i will still survive, a beautiful day is awaiting me" (from a 19 yrs old cancer patient, 6 months of life left)
2. "To learn how to be successful, i must lean how to fail" (from the 24 yrs old girl who does not have limbs since birth. But now a successful Office Lady and part time Radio station DJ)
3. To put a smile at people's face, my greatest honour, my greatest pleasure. (from a drama stars by a fat, ugly cook)
4. Play hard in your life, just as you play hard in a match. So when the final whistle blows, you have no more regrets (from a movie " Grown ups" stars by Adam Sanders)
Indeed Japanese have their way to encourage and motivate their citizen via TV show...So i am enlightened...My smile is my greatest asset. I will always smile, and keep on smiling for every obstacles and challenges.
I will always smile, and i will always survived.

Senior Nite '06
2/4/06... a memorable night. It marked me as the current oldest senior in my campus. Yes, this is nite that served as the final gathering for all final year students. Three main faculties, civil, electrical and mechanical engineering students joined this nite at the town's most luxuroius hotel.Overall, this is fine program, organized by our juniors. Good Job!!! thumbs up!!! ( indeed well-trained by the seniors, including me, haha.... alright just kidding) All of the juniors showed their very best and to make this night a marvellous night
A group photo of final year studentsU know, after knowing all these friends for almost 5 years, little did i know is all they are soooo.....expert in dressing. Very eye catching. The boys are so macho (yuks, feel so gay...) and the gals are so elegant and beautiful. From what i heard, all the gals spent at least 3 hours for make up and hairdo before the nite. Well i can say this is a very encouraging in terms of image and 1st impression to other ppl, especially to those who currently seeking for a job. Ya, show them the best !!
What's next? pics of course!! 1st my gf and I

Wei Zhi, won the title of the most elegant gal of the nite

Interview at Panasonic
Hmm...today is my big day. After the absence of the interviewer during second interview made me loose confidence to them..(just like being fooled by some boring, nothing-better-to-do adults). But luckily they called me for a final interview.*bling*...*bling* my eyes shine on the spot when noticed an email form them, venue? At the factory woh... (here comes the chance...hehe)
when mr stephen, miss yeo and i arrived at PCM. i noticed that the candidates attendance sheet got only 10 ppl..
*bling*...*bling* my eyes shine on the spot, again (hehe chan sudah mari)
then all of us are invited into the training room by HR officer (we will called him mr Sal)
alright, the very first part of the interview...well, is kinda math questions.
here's the instruction:
ex:
3 4 6 7 9 1 4 7
7 0 3 6 0 5 1
from the 1st row of no (3 4 6 7 9 1 4 7), write down the answer in between the numbers (ie: 3+4=7, 9+1=10 and take the last no, 0...7+9=16, take 6)
well easy job, sap sap water
next, try to imagine in front you there is a almost A3 size, landscape, font size<12, style="font-style: italic;">what the...'sweating')
*************************************************************************************
RESULT & ANALYSIS:
1. can only complete halfway for every row (comment: believe me, 1 min is damm too short)
2.PCM math test syndrome discovered:
a.hand sweating, shaking, cramped
b.eyes rowling
c.mentally distorted
CONCLUSION:
Damm good pressure and stress test for all candidates. 100% efficiency test syndrome proven
*************************************************************************************
Next, a 45 min, objective, 20 questions
(below are extracted from the paper)
1.what is Ohm's Law? ( Hahaha...if i donno this i can't even pass my SPM...feel kinda insulting)
20. what is the function of a compressor? (whoah, got themo question too, kuittho is far sighted to offer electrical students themo subject)
Finally the face-to-face interview
Mr Sal is very proud to announce that the panel will consisting of 4 persons, namely: General Manager, Asist. GManager, R&D Head etc etc...
(sweating heavily...)
I assumed i will be rained with super(tough) technical questions...somebody pls help me!!
But... in fact...
Mr Sal:" to save time, we will conduct the interview in a group of 5 candidates." (ah? like this also can?)
Mr Sal:"ok, i'll call out the names, mr tan yong jin, mr stephen, miss yeo........." (ee? how come he didnt mention my english name (richard)? whatever, that's my name too)
So all of us walked to a so-called an interview room.
when we got into the room, the panels realised that there are 6 candidates in the room.(how come? don tell me they saw something dirty...)
Our dear mr Sal then called out again all the names: "mr tan yong jin...." of course i'll raise my hand. at this moment i noticed that there 'is' another guy raised his hand too...(???)
that guy's name is TAN YOK JIN............(*slient*) no wonder mr sal din mention 'richard' before... he called that fellow, not me...
So i left the room and wait for my turn. Finally, my turn. U know, the atmosphere is quite weird:
five of us facing 5 panels, including mr Sal. wordless. i can only show them with my sweet smile, nothing else.
Basically mr Sal asked most of the questions, and we answer the same question 1 by 1. surprisingly, no technical question at all!!! the top management ppl din asked a thing langsung.
This make me imagine that we are in a matchmaking session where the 'mentuahs' (GM & others) just want to look at our cute faces and choose the best son-in law for their daughter.
the interview end at 11.00 a.m.
Basically that's the interview i've gone thru. good experience.
